CNC Milling & Turning

CNC Manufacturing - Milling

What CNC milling can offer:

  • 3 and 4 axis machining capabilities
  • Consistent surface finish
  • Highly accurate part production
  • Suitable for prototyping or large production runs
  • Custom fixture design
  • Efficient cycle times for rapid production
  • Complex features, geometries,  engraving, and much more
  • Can deliver anodised/plated parts in a variety of colours and finishes
  • Machining aluminium, stainless steel, titanium, plastics (acetyl) and more.

We’ve used exclusively Hurco Vertical-Milling (VM) Centres since our machine shop first opened its doors. During years of operation our understanding of these machine tools and how best to use their intuitive conversational programming features means that we can guarantee that our clients receive the highest quality parts at a competitive price.

Our extensive knowledge of CNC milling processes allows us to reduce material wastage and overall cycle time, two of the largest factors that any machine shop will factor into their quote for CNC machining work. We can pass these savings to you, the customer, providing you with a better price without sacrificing on quality.

Accuracy in our work is always assured thanks to our advanced CNC machinery, precision testing equipment and tooling solutions. Our Hurco CNC VM (vertical-machining) centres work right through the day, producing parts in production runs from a few hundred to tens of thousands, whatever the customer requires. Maintaining extreme accuracy right the way down to +/- 0.01mm.

CNC Manufacturing - Turning

What CNC turning can offer:

  • Production runs in 100s - 10,000s
  • Extensive range of live tools for mill/turn functionality
  • Complex features, geometries, thread-milling, knurling etc.
  • Virtually limitless machining thanks to CAD/CAM software capabilities
  • Excellent surface finishes
  • Consistent accuracy of machining to very close tolerances
  • Can deliver anodised/plated parts in a variety of colours and finishes
  • Machining aluminium, stainless steel, plastics (acetyl), brass and more.

We have recently boosted our capacity for turning production by the addition of a new Star SR-20J. We have been so impressed with the consistency of our original Star SR-20 turning centre (our steady workhorse for well over a decade) that adding a second Star was an obvious choice. The majority of our small diameter turning parts (anything under 20mm) are likely to be machined on these two machines.

The new Star comes equipped with the latest technologies including their step cycle pro for better chipping of difficult materials, as well as advanced safety features such as automated fire suppression for peace of mind during lights out machining. This more than doubles our current production capabilities thanks to these features.

Our CMZ TA20YS turning centre was acquired in 2017 in order to fulfil growing demand from our customers for larger parts. This machine is capable of producing parts between 20-65mm (bar-fed) and 65mm-300mm (billet) in diameter. Since its arrival we have been busy producing larger components for our clients in the optic fibre and telecommunications industry.
